Hail to the Ale – It’s the Battle of the Brewers weekend at Hail to the Ale in Claregate, with various beers from Beowulf Brewery and Blythe Brewery facing off against each other between Thursday and Monday – and you’ll get to vote on which you prefer. Three beers each over the weekend, average score wins.

The Claregate, The Swan at Compton and The Bull at Codsall – Guest Beer Festival weekend at The Claregate, The Swan at Compton and The Bull at Codsall begins – this isn’t a beer festival with vouchers and stacked casks though – the pubs will instead be serving a variety of beers from breweries other than those in the Marston’s stable on their numerous hand pumps. Expect to see Okell’s Saison, Isle of Arran Blonde and Oakham Ales’ Bishop’s Farewell amongst many others between Friday and Monday. Miss an ale at one pub? It’s only a short jaunt to the others..
The Dog & Gun – Live entertainment and activities at The Dog & Gun in Tettenhall this weekend from Friday until Monday in aid of and organised by Compton Hospice including music and a children’s magician.
The Chindit – Live music from Rumours Of Spring on Friday evening at The Chindit on Merridale Road, not far from Bantock Park.

AFC Wulfrunians – Wulfs host Romulus in the FA Cup at the Castlecroft Stadium, 3pm kick off and £5 / £3 entry.
West Park – Party in the Park is at West Park running Saturday and Sunday this weekend – featuring a fun fair and two live stages with various events such as Wolverhampton’s Got Talent and a special guest from Big Brother amongst various events over the weekend.
Combermere Arms – Live music from Caloca at the Combermere Arms in Chapel Ash on Saturday evening.
The Claregate – A hit music selection from DJ Jamin and a free buffet at The Claregate’s party night – sure to be a winner alongside the pubs Guest Beer Festival. Music starts at 9pm.

Royal Oak – It’s Oak Fest at the Royal Oak on Compton Road near Chapel Ash this Sunday – SEVEN live bands throughout the day and evening, including Angry Lennox and Lakhota. Free entry and in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
Giffard Arms – Yet more live music, this time with a small admission to raise money for Compton Hospice and Birmingham Children’s Hospital, it’s Giff Fest at the Giffard Arms, with bands such as Ronin, Under A Banner and The Whiskey Syndicate, this is one not to miss.
The Crown Inn, Codsall Wood – It’s Bank Holiday Fun Day at The Crown Inn, with a bouncy castle, live music and a barbecue, free entry but donations to Cancer Research UK welcome.
